About Me

SM
I severed ties with the Catholic Church after 29 devout years of attending mass weekly, receiving all the sacraments a civilian could receive, and even teaching Catechism. But more and more, the church continued to get in the way of my relationship with God. So I left - and took God with me. I chose to venture beyond the dogma of man. My issues with the Church's female repression, hypocrisy and unapologetic politics, had been building all these years, but the breaking point occurred when I decided I did not want to have children and was advised by more than one Church official that I should have my marriage annulled because creating more Catholics is the whole point of marriage in the Catholic Church. I knew they were wrong about alienating me because of my choice (Jesus would have done no such thing) so I began researching what else they were wrong about and it turns out many of the church's core teachings are based on mistranslations of the original Greek and Hebrew scriptures. Since this schism, I have come to realize the actual Good News of Universal Salvation, the truth in God's grace and the problem with man's so-called ability to save himself through belief.
